KACN Television Examples of Art & Media in Alaska

We are always looking for interesting videos to share on KACN Television!

Here are three examples of the sort of Alaska made interviews, music, and art we love to show on KACN Television.

The first third of this clip shows a conversational interview with ? & ? (please remind us–the web poster does not know).

The second third shows a clip of Milo Matthews playing an Amazing (!) multilayered bass jam, in a solo gig in Spenard, Anchorage.

KACN is Now in Girdwood on GCI Channel 95!

We are pleased to announce that as of today, KACN is being broadcast in Girdwood, Alaska.

In the spring of 2010, GCI Cable signed an agreement to buy Eyecom Inc.’s Girdwood cable television business.  This summer, GCI went hard to work replacing the old analog cable distribution system with more modern digital cable systems.

This has allowed GCI Cable to greatly expand the television stations offered in Girdwood.

As a result, as of today, September 14th, 2011, KACN Television is available in one more Alaskan Community, Girdwood!

KACN Television welcomes Girdwood to our growing community!

KACN Makes Nominee Profiles for Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Annual Goldpan Awards

KACN is truly unique in Alaska. Some programs come from professional Alaskan film makers, other productions come from distant lands. A special focus of KACN is to aid rural and young Alaskans in creating and broadcasting their own informative shows. This all contributes to KACN’s goal of Uniting Alaska.

This month we are proudly working to profile the sixteen nominees to the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce annual Goldpan Awards. Check out our preview video below:
